The Congregation of the Sisters of the Resurrection was founded in Rome in 1891 by a widow, Celina Borzęcka, and her daughter, Jadwiga. For the first time in the history of the Catholic Church, a women’s religious community was established by a mother and daughter. Mother Celina Borzęcka was beatified on October 27, 2007. The beatification process for Jadwiga is currently ongoing.
Today, the Sisters of the Resurrection are present in various countries around the world, responding to the contemporary needs of the Church and bringing God’s hope and love to everyone they encounter in parishes, schools, hospitals, and everywhere God leads them to serve and evangelize.
