The Congregation considers that one of its principal tasks is parish ministry, since the parish constitutes the basic unit of the ecclesial community.
The religious engaged in parish ministry strive to ensure that the parish becomes a family united in the Spirit and in the love of Christ, following the example of the first Christian community in Jerusalem, in which “the whole group of believers was united, heart and soul” (Acts 4:32).
(see CR Constitutions, 212)
The Resurrectionists, in forming the new man, have a particular impact on families, supporting the creation of Christian communities of faith in which one can experience the hope, love, joy, and peace of the Risen Christ.
The Congregation especially encourages young people and families to become involved in smaller communities, which foster personal growth, a deeper sense of responsibility for the Church, and the building of friendships and cooperation in the parish apostolate.
The Congregation of the Resurrection especially encourages young people and families to join smaller communities, where individual faithful can more easily fulfill their responsibility for the Church, develop their personalities, and promote friendship and cooperation within the parish apostolate.
We place particular emphasis on sacramental life, as well as assistance to those in need and those who suffer. The center and source of true religious life in the parish family is the liturgy—especially the Eucharist. It is precisely through the celebration of the Eucharist that Christ, ever present in his Church, renders perfect praise to God and sanctifies his people.
