OurLadyoftheSign Kostka

“I will make the victor a pillar in the temple of my God” (Rev 3:12).

The Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in the Church of St. Stanislaus Kostka, located alongside the noisy Kennedy Expressway in the heart of Chicago, is a sign of contradiction, a light for the world, and an oasis of living water inviting God’s people to find inner peace in trusting surrender to Divine Mercy.

The Sanctuary, established in 2007 by Cardinal Francis George OMI, Archbishop of Chicago, is also a prophetic sign of the springtime of faith in the third millennium of Christianity, foretold by St. John Paul II; a new descent of the Holy Spirit, enkindling the faithful to “contemplate the face of Christ in the school of His Holy Mother and in union with her.”

The core mission of the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy is the life-transforming contemplation of the Merciful Eucharistic King, enthroned in the Immaculate Heart of Mary the Queen. The iconic monstrance serves to awaken in the Church “amazement before the mystery of the Eucharist,” as part of the new evangelization leading all people to the source of mercy.
