125 years ago, on January 6, 1891, in Rome, at the chapel on Via Veneto, the ceremony of investiture and perpetual vows of the Foundresses of the Sisters of the Resurrection - Mother Celina and Mother Jadwiga Borzęcka took place. The witness to the vows was Cardinal Lucido Parocchi, papal vicar for the Diocese of Rome, as well as the Superior General of the Resurrectionists, Father Walerian Przewołocki CR.
This day marks the founding date of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Resurrection. The Jubilee Mass at the General House was presided over by Father Bernard Hylla, CR. In his homily, he pointed out the special grace of celebrating such a jubilee at the end of the Year of Consecrated Life and in the Holy Year of Divine Mercy. After the festive dinner, traditional caroling took place, led by Father Wojciech Mleczko, CR.
The Sisters also celebrated the jubilee festivities in other Provinces. At the Provincial House of the Sisters of the Resurrection in Chicago, the thanksgiving Mass was presided over by Bishop Robert Kurtz CR, and along with him, 20 Resurrectionists prayed. Meanwhile, in Tanzania, the Sisters celebrated at our Novitiate House in Buhemba.
May the Risen Jesus continuously bless the sisterly Congregation and lead them on the paths of new life.
