On Sunday, June 29, 2014, on the bicentennial of Fr. Piotr Semenenko CR's birth, several members of the Congregation came to the parish community in Dolistowo for a solemn Eucharist celebrated in the church where he was baptized. The Mass in the filled church was presided over by Archbishop Edward Ozorowski from Białystok. Meanwhile, the Provincial of the Polish Province, Fr. Wiesław Śpiewak CR, delivered a passionate homily, placing the anniversary of the Co-founder of the Resurrectionists in the context of the liturgical feast of Saints Peter and Paul.
Despite the celebration taking place on a Sunday, which is always a busy day for priests, nine Resurrectionists participated in the event. Also present were Fr. Lech Wycichowski from the Ontario-Kentucky Province, General Secretary Fr. Jim Gibson CR from Rome, and twelve Sisters of the Resurrection, including Sr. Anna Helena Skalik CR, General Councilor, and Sr. Maria Donata Wołowiec CR, Provincial of the Warsaw Province. Three novices from the Polish Province and two seminarians served at the Mass.
The parish in Dolistowo warmly welcomed representatives of both Congregations of the Resurrection, who continue the spiritual heritage of Fr. Semenenko. In the festively decorated church, a portrait of the young Father Piotr was placed, and the baptismal font where he was incorporated into the Church community was adorned. After the meal, Fr. Śpiewak also led a prayer in the small chapel located at the birthplace of Piotr Semenenko.
The bicentennial of Father Piotr Semenenko and the 174th anniversary of the heavenly birth of the Servant of God Bogdan Jański were also celebrated on the distant Bermuda by the community of friends of the Congregation of the Resurrection with their pastor, Father Julio Błażejewski CR.
