On January 6th, in the chapel of St. Joseph the Worker in Chicago, Brother Bill Hallas CR renewed the religious vows he made exactly fifty years ago. The ceremony was attended by 20 Resurrectionists, family and friends, sisters and brothers of the order. The Mass was presided over by Father Gene Szarek CR, and the Word of God was delivered by Father Joe Malczyk CR. After the homily, Brother Bill lit his baptismal candle from the paschal candle and affirmed his desire to follow the Risen Jesus by reciting the words of the vow. At the conclusion of the liturgy, the Provincial Father read the blessing granted by Pope Francis on the occasion of the jubilee.
