International Conference in Krakow

 On Wednesday, February 25, at the Resurrectionis Center in Krakow, the 10th International Conference in the series "Spirituality of Polish Monasteries: Transmission and Communication" took place. This year's event was accompanied by the theme: "Resurrectionists – Towards the Spiritual Renewal of Society." The conference was organized by the Polish Province of the Resurrectionists in cooperation with the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow. Speakers represented various academic centers in Poland, Canada, the USA, and Hungary. Since 2011, this symposium has been part of the annual formation meeting of pastors, house superiors, and those holding other functions in the Polish Province. The conference was also attended by a group of laypeople and the sisters of the Albertine, Immaculate, and Resurrectionist orders.
The person responsible for organizing the conference was Fr. Dr. Wojciech Mleczko CR, while the session moderators were Fr. Prof. Stefan Koperek CR and Fr. Prof. Dariusz Tabor CR. In addition to papers in Polish, presented by Fr. Prof. Dr. Hab. Wojciech Zyzak, Fr. Prof. Dr. Hab. Wojciech Misztal, Fr. Dr. Wojciech Mleczko CR, and Prof. KUL, Dr. Hab. Włodzimierz Osadczy, participants listened to three presentations in English: Ms. Kata Magony-Bíró, a doctoral student at Pázmány Péter Catholic University (Budapest, Hungary), Fr. Prof. James Donohue CR, Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Mount St. Mary University in Emmitsburg (Maryland, USA), and Fr. Prof. Paul Sims, CR from Concordia University of Chicago (USA).
This conference is part of the celebrations of the 175th anniversary of the death of Servant of God Bogdan Jański, founder of the Resurrectionists. The symposium began with a solemn Eucharist in the seminary chapel dedicated to Emmaus, presided over and with a homily delivered by Auxiliary Bishop Grzegorz Ryś. Thanks to the efforts of Fr. Wiesław Śpiewak CR, Provincial of the Polish Province, participants also had the opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist in the chapel located in the Wieliczka salt mine and in the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec.
