We have come to know and to believe in the love that God has for us.

In Rome, from June 11-25, 2017, the 33rd General Chapter will take place. This extremely important event for the life of our Congregation will be accompanied by the motto: “Witnesses of the Presence of the Risen Lord: from the community to the world.” We want to focus on the resurrectionist vocation, which demands from us a testimony of the presence and action of the Risen Lord in the Church and in the world. Such authentic witnessing is possible thanks to a personal and communal encounter with God, who is love. It was the experience of the first disciples of Jesus, which is why St. John begins his letter with the words: “We declare to you what we have touched with our hands” (1 John 1:1), and then confesses: “We have come to know and to believe in the love that God has for us” (1 John 4:16).
We ask for prayers for the preparation and fruitful conduct of the XXXIII General Chapter, that it may be a truly paschal time, lived in a community that confidently submits to the transforming action of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer for the light of the Holy Spirit for the 33rd General Chapter.
Risen Jesus Christ, send your Spirit upon the chapter fathers and grant them the gift of wisdom and understanding, the gift of counsel and fortitude, the gift of knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord, so that they may know what God's will is and what the vocation (charism, community, mission) of the Resurrectionists is in today's times. Lord Jesus, make the chapter fathers, through the grace of the Holy Spirit, desire to do everything for the glory of God, for the salvation of people, and for the growth of the Congregation. Amen.
