The Mission in Tanzania is one of our youngest apostolates, established twelve years ago. Despite its short existence, it already has achievements to boast about. Currently, we are working in two parishes in Kahangalia and Butiama. Our formative development is a joy. We have three brothers after their first vows, two of whom are religious brothers and one in priestly formation. Two more seminarians will begin their novitiate next year. On December 27th, on the day of St. John, a small community celebration took place in our African religious house in Kahangalia. On this day, Fr. Maciej Braun CR was ceremoniously introduced as the superior, replacing the outgoing Fr. Andrzej Mądry CR, who served three terms, totaling 9 years. The Holy Mass was presided over by Fr. Maciej in an unusual concelebration. On the same day, we celebrated the Polish Christmas Eve on African soil. Present were Polish priests working in the dioceses of Musoma and Mwanza. Polish sisters were also present. After the homily delivered by Fr. Kościelniak, the introduction of the new superior and his profession of faith took place. The oath and profession of faith were accepted on behalf of the Father General by Fr. Andrzej Duda CR. During the Holy Mass, we thanked the outgoing superior for all the good that came through his involvement, and we prayed for the gifts of the Holy Spirit for the new office holder. All the Resurrectionists on Tanzanian soil participated in the celebration, meaning five in formation and three priests. Unfortunately, Father Daniel was absent as he is currently on vacation in Poland. Although the liturgy was conducted in Polish, which was not understood by everyone, we believe and trust that the new superior was validly introduced into office.
