New General Administration of the Congregation of the Resurrection

20170615 161711Father Paul Voisin CR from the Ontario-Kentucky Province was elected on June 15 as the new superior general of the Congregation of the Resurrectionists. Fr. Paul is 66 years old, and he took his first religious vows in 1974. He has primarily worked as a pastor in Canada and Bermuda, as well as a missionary, educator, and formator in Bolivia. In recent years, he served as the rector of the Cathedral of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus in Hamilton, Bermuda and as the bishop's vicar of that diocese. The term of the superior general lasts 6 years. He serves the entire Congregation through canonical visitations and frequent contacts with the Brothers, strengthening unity and fruitful communal life, and overseeing fidelity to the Congregation's charism.

On June 17, the General Chapter elected the general councilors:

Fr. Evandro Miranda Rosa CR from the South American Region was elected vicar general, while general councilors Fathers Jacek Praski CR from the USA Province (I) and Andrzej Gieniusz CR from the Polish Province (II).

The community joins in prayer through the intercession of Our Lady of Mentorella, Our Lady of Grace, asking for the necessary graces for the new General Council in leading the Resurrectionist Community along the paths of consecrated life.

The Congregation expresses gratitude for the six-year service of the outgoing administration: superior general Fr. Bernard Hylla CR, vicar general Fr. Timothy Uniac CR, and general councilors Fr. Evandro Miranda Rosa CR and Fr. James Gibson CR.
