Perpetual Vows in the Roman House

On December 8, 2015, during the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the inauguration of the Jubilee Year of Mercy, cleric André Malta Martins CR from the South American Region made his perpetual vows before Fr. Bernard Hylla CR, the Superior General of the Congregation. The official witnesses of the vows, which are also an act of faith, were the other members of the General Curia. Meanwhile, two other Brazilian confreres from Collegium Resurrectionis in Rome, cleric Leandro Buono CR and brother Nucinaldo Bezerra de Arruda CR, renewed their religious profession for one year.
The ceremony took place at the Church of the Resurrection of the Lord, in the General House in Rome. The Eucharist was concelebrated by the seminary rector and general councilor Fr. Evandro Miranda Rosa CR, Vicar General Fr. Tim Uniac CR, General Secretary Fr. James Gibson, CR, Fr. Prof. Andrzej Gieniusz CR, Fr. Marcin Paca CR from our parish in Acilia, and Fr. Carlo Bazzi, who is a guest of our House. Among the guests were the Sisters of the Resurrection, the Benedictine Samaritan Sisters, a delegation from the parish in Acilia where brother André serves apostolic duties on Sundays, and seminarians from the Congregations of the Augustinians, Canons Regular (Theatines), and Missionary Servants of the Poor. The invited seminarians also assisted in the liturgical setting of the ceremony.
Brother André, strengthened by the special grace of vocation and the apostolic blessing of Pope Francis, will soon complete his studies in Rome and return to Brazil to continue preparing for the diaconate ordination and later priesthood. Let us pray for the blessing of the Risen Lord for all the young resurrectionists undergoing initial formation in Rome and other provinces and regions.
