On October 8, the South American Region of the Congregation of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ joyfully presented the Portuguese edition of The Interior Life by Fr. Piotr Semenenko, CR—co-founder of the Congregation—now appearing for the first time in Portuguese.
This exceptional event, imbued with joy, faith, and fraternal communion, gathered many religious, lay faithful, and invited guests. It was not only an occasion to celebrate Resurrectionist spirituality and mission, but also a moment to recall three important anniversaries: the 189th anniversary of the founding of the Congregation, the 138th anniversary of Fr. Semenenko’s passing from this world, and the 66th anniversary of the arrival of the first Resurrectionists in Brazil.
The evening began with a gentle artistic prelude—a concert by the String Orchestra of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). This was followed by reflections on the spiritual depth and contemporary relevance of Fr. Semenenko’s thought. Fr. Alexandre Lopes Alessio, CR, introduced the author; Fr. Evandro Miranda Rosa, CR, Superior General of the Congregation, presented the book; and Fr. Ricardo Michelin, the host of the evening, offered thanks for everyone’s presence and engagement.
The publication of the Portuguese translation was made possible thanks to the support and commitment of the Generalate of the Congregation of the Resurrection in Rome, in collaboration with those responsible for Fr. Semenenko’s cause for beatification.
The celebration concluded with a fraternal gathering, marked by the joy that flows from the experience of interior resurrection and the hope that springs from the presence of the Living Christ.
