Symposium Dedicated to Fr. Prof. Stefan Pawlicki CR

Risen Lord

This year's celebration of the 180th anniversary of the Congregation's founding included the ceremonies of the 100th anniversary of the death of Fr. Stefan Zachariasz Pawlicki CR, an eminent philosopher, professor, and rector of the Jagiellonian University. On February 17, 2016, a scientific session dedicated to this remarkably colorful and extraordinary figure, who was highly respected and admired as a priest and scientist by both the clergy and the faithful, took place at the Resurrectionis Center in Krakow. The scientific conference was preceded by a Eucharist led by His Excellency Bishop Jan Zając, and concluded with a tour of the Jagiellonian University Museum (Collegium Maius) and the Aula and Senate Hall in Collegium Novum UJ, where a portrait of Fr. Prof. Pawlicki CR is displayed. In four sessions, 17 speakers (philosophers, theologians, historians, and sociologists) representing various academic communities in Poland took the floor.
