Brother Raphael Ma from the Province of Ontario-Kentucky was introduced to the ministry of lector by Bishop Carl Kemme on Friday, April 22. The ceremony took place in the Immaculate Conception Seminary Chapel in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Our fathers: Jim Donohue, Toby Collins, and Eric Wagner attended the event. The following day in Rome, at the Church of the Resurrection, the Father General introduced Brother Marcin Klimaszewski from the Polish Province to the ministry of acolyte. Members of the Extended General Council, which is meeting from April 21 to 29 at the Roman House, participated in the holy mass.
Candidates for the sacrament of ordination are appointed as lectors and acolytes during seminary formation. Performing these ministries is one of the essential elements of preparation for receiving this sacrament. We wish Brothers Raphael and Marcin that their lectorate and acolyte ministries will lead to an even greater love for the Holy Scriptures and the Eucharist in their lives.
