This year, the Resurrectionists in Tanzania will assume pastoral responsibility for a new parish dedicated to Bikira Maria Mtakatifu, Mama wa Mungu (the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God) in Nyantira, within the Archdiocese of Dar es Salaam. In early January, Fr. Jim Donohue received the official decree from the local ordinary, Archbishop Jude Thaddaeus Ruwa’ichi, OFMCap, who officially announced that the Resurrectionists’ ministry in the new parish will begin on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
